We have some ideas about things to do, but it's been years since either of us has been to San Fran, so we need some tips. So far, we're planning a day in Napa Valley, hopefully doing the spa/mud bath/hot springs experience at Callistoga. We also want to do touristy stuff in the city, including Alcatraz, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf and all of those things .... and then we're heading down to Monterey for a few days. We want to do some hiking and definitely the aquarium, but what else? I'm sure there are a million things to do ... what are your favorites?
I secretly want to go here.

My uncle lives in Sausalito (across the Golden Gate bridge) and I love driving around over there. Lots of cute homes and a cute boardwalk with stores down off the water. San Fran is really fun. There is also a seal hosptial over by Stintson beach (which is also fun to go to) that we've enjoying stopping at. Have fun and congrats on 3 years!
a castle!!! how did i not know about that? i am supposed to be the brains! we will def have to go there. so excited = counting down the days.
FUN!! I am excited for you guys! If you need a place to stay on the road- we are on the way to SF. We were just in Monterey and Santa Cruz this weekend. In Monterey we did the Aquarium, Cannery Row, and a MUST- 17 mile drive. You pay like $10 to take this 17 mile drive along the coast to your right- and the Pebble Beach golf courses to your left- amazing! There are like 20 different pull off spots for pictures and amazing views. You can finish the drive in Carmel- or get back onto HWY 1. I think I liked the drive just as much as the aquarium. In Santa Cruz- we did the Mystery Spot- fun and trippy. The boardwalk- lots of rides/roller coasters, right on the beach- Natural Bridges State Beach (amazingly beautiful) and West Cliff Drive- its like a 2 or 3 mile walk along the coast... you can google each one and see if any of those interest you guys. Santa Cruz is just 40 miles North of Monterey. Have fun! Look forward to reading about your trip!
Muir Woods, also across the Golden Gate Bridge, is a beautiful place to go. Very peaceful, lots of hiking trails, and of course, the majestic Coastal Redwoods. Definitely one of my favorite spots.
If you are taking your dog, there's a great dog beach (accessible from Fort Funston). It was my favorite place to go and I don't even have a dog!
what?! did you know Monterey is where we lived after Utah? We are going down mid june to visit my Papo and KJ. I second 17 mile drive, it is awesome. I also say drive the Big Sur coast. It's beautiful and there are some awesome trails right there. Kj and I found a hidden beach tucked under the high way. It's really cool. Also anywhere in Carmel, the beach in particular is so fun. You'll have a blast!
And every anniversary is a big deal. I think it should be that way :)
