See this girl?

Her name is Ilene. She's totally hot,
one of the nicest and most generous people
I have ever met, and an awesome friend.

And she's getting MARRIED!!

Here she is with Julie in Moab:

After a wicked mountain biking accident, but still looking great:

And here she is with the lucky boy:

Congrats Ilene and Eric!!

more thanks

a: My health. It seems like everyone in my life has been sick lately ... and then there's the whole swine flu business ... I'm really glad that I'm a mostly healthy person, and Lucas too. Mostly.

b: My awesome friends. Here are a few of them (I have a lot more):

(best friend)

c: My jobs. Sometimes I complain about being super busy and stressed and overwhelmed (sorry, lucas). I really love all of my jobs. I'm lucky to have a bunch of them, and that they all work with each other so well.

d: The Gospel, and our awesome ward. We just got split into a different ward, and it turns out that this ward is just as incredible as our previous one, or maybe more incredible ...

I really have a lot to be thankful for ...

thankful for: brok

I know it's totally cheesy, but I just love this boy. Sometimes we treat him more like a human that we probably should ... then it drives us crazy when he acts all entitled to a spot on the couch, or the front seat in the car.
He likes going in the water, but not if it's too deep (he can't swim very well ...), he loves hikes and the park, and he REALLY loves playing ball. He's afraid of most things, including his own bark. But he looks tough ...

I'm sorry this kind of sounds like a baby update (you know, what your kid is doing at 6 months so you can remember .... ) I realize Brok is not my child, but I love him just as much I think.

birthday shout out (late)

Yesterday was my wonderful sister's birthday.
Steph is the best sister and the best mom.
I really really love her and I feel really bad
that this post is a day late.
(I was just super busy yesterday, sorry steph).

She has a really cool husband who took her on
a surprise getaway to Park City and took her shopping,
which her her ultimate dream birthday.

Isn't she pretty?

I love you Steph, Happy Birthday yesterday.

Thankful #2: I love to see the Temple

Okay, so maybe I'll just do a bunch of things that I'm thankful for before Thanksgiving .... I missed a couple of days, thanks to my awesome brother-in-law, Andy Kane. He came to Salt Lake to teach a screen-printing class at Nicole's Art Weekend, and it was awesome. We went to his class, went to some other classes and hung out with him a bunch. I couldn't blog because I was just that busy.

My thankful item for today is temples. This is one of my favorites: Salt Lake.

We took Steph's kiddos to see it since we were downtown on Saturday (Steph met us for a photoshop class at the art weekend and we got to hang with the kids ...) When we asked Carter if he wanted to go see the Salt Lake Temple he got a funny look in his eye, looked off into the distance, and started singing "Families Can Be Together Forever" - what a great kid. We checked out all of the fountains at Temple Square and even learned where President Monson works and lives (Carter: Can we go visit him??) We rode the train (Trax) all over town and checked out the Planetarium. Great day.

Back to temples.
Got married here:

Want to visit here, here, and here:

Kiev, Ukraine

Manila, Phillipines

Edmonton, Alberta

giving thanks

I tried not to let this happen. I swore to myself that I wouldn't be like the rest of the crazy blogging world. But then I kind of fell in love with blogging. I love looking at blogs, reading about people's lives .... I can't get enough of it.
So I've decided to do a blogging experiment.

Sometimes this sort of thing gets on my nerves, but sometimes I like it. I feel like this one will turn out pretty good. I'm going to blog about something that I'm thankful for every day until Thanksgiving. I'm hoping it will get me into the holiday spirit a little better, and make me think about all of the wonderful things I'm blessed with. So here goes.

#1 My Family. They are the greatest, most wonderful family. I have parents that would do anything for me, a sister who is my best friend, and really tall brothers.
And then there are my in-laws. Most amazing sisters, and really talented and funny brothers. Lucas has incredible parents, and incredible step-parents. And also really cool step-brothers and sisters. Plus a dozen adorable nieces and nephews.

I'm really really lucky and grateful for the incredible family I have, and I love them all.
